Dear Coaches, Athletes and Parents:
I decided to write you personally because I just couldn't
take it anymore! I just couldn't sit back and watch

I remember entering my freshman year of college to play football and
thinking that I was prepared and ready to go for the upcoming season. I thought
that through my current training I would be competitive and I should be in good

The game had really jumped up a level, and all I could think about,
was how am I going to make it? These guys are really moving! It
didn't matter what position they played, the game was so much faster
now!
I remember watching some of my teammates and noticed that the guys,
who had blazing 40-yard dash times, also had great vertical jumps. They
possessed quick feet and they were able to start and stop on a dime. They could
move their bodies and were very explosive athletes. They had the total package.
And believe me I WANTED THAT!
Well, when the season ended I vowed that I was going to train my
butt off in the off-season to come back faster, more agile and explosive.
I became the subject of my own experiments. The Internet wasn't
mainstream like it is today, so I would watch how the upper-classmen
would train. I would determine what was helping me and what wasn't
working and adjusted my training. I wanted to uncover what would
make me the BEST athlete I could be.
Through my 25 years of training I have continued this same process
to determine what helps my athletes, teams and even my own training
get better each session, month and year! Making progress is important
to me and I'm sure it is to you.

- I want my punches to be so fast that his corner throws in the
towel!
- I want to weave in and out of defenders UNTOUCHED!
- I want undeniable game-breaking speed!
- I want to watch my opponent's eyes, as I jump so high from the
sand and drive that spike 0back at
him as he covers up with fear!
- I want my name to have an “* beside it, on my opponents
scouting report, saying

Regardless of the sport and situation speed and explosiveness
dictate the ebb and flow of the game! Having the ability to run
like a cheetah, jump powerfully and cut on a dime will allow you

Is How I Know!
I know that when I was a kid growing up playing baseball, football
and basketball I always wanted to be the best player on the team. I was always
very passionate about the sports I played and wanted to know what I could do to
be the best!
I'll be the first to tell you that I was not a gifted ”athlete
growing up. I couldn't simply just show up and have things come
easy to me. I've always had to work very hard to keep up with the
talented athletes that I've played with.
This may have discouraged some people, but I accepted and loved
the challenge of having to push myself to become the best I could
be. I can recall waking up at 5:00am to train with one of my neighborhood
friends before school. It was winter, very cold and we would workout
in my garage warmed only by a small heater! I did this at the age
of 13! I wasn't forced to do this; I wanted to do this! I knew inside
that if I wanted to compete and be successful I had to uncover any
and every secret possible in my training.
I have been studying and filtering training information since I
was 12 years old! I would read, study and then apply. I became a
true student of performance training, even at a young age.
Through the years, I discovered that my “true gifts were hidden
in the forms of dedication, passion and a strong heart and will
to succeed. These were gifts that regardless of my age and sport,
no one could take them away from me!
The “wanting is the easy part, the desire, “sweat and
the tears to achieve, is the difficult part! I've always been willing
to take the extra step. I would catch countless balls from behind
the plate after practice, shoot free-throws for hours, and run extra
passing routes and hills after football practice. I was never forced
by anyone, it just seemed like the right thing to do. And no one
was going to work harder than I was!
As a collegiate football player I earned All-Conference status and
a chance to participate at an NFL/CFL combine. And even today I
still train and compete as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor. I continue
to apply those true gifts” to my life to this day. So, I know
and understand what it takes to compete. I understand what it feels
like to want to be the best!
I understand this because, I
just don't talk about it, I live it!
