Bar Speed Baby!If you’ve read any of my work for any length of time, you know how much I stress bar speed, or training in a VERY explosive manner. These are just a few of the benefits of explosive training. And, of course, the best way for you to learn is to see what I mean. Below is video of me doing The Power Hang Clean… You'll notice I'm not using what most would consider "light weights". There's 225 pounds on the bar and I'm using my hamstrings and posterior chain to rapidly move the bar from point A (start of movement) to Point B (top of movement). You CAN train explosively & still be very, very strong. The key is technique and constant progression. With off-season training just around the corner, it's imperative you make explosive bar speed a focal point if world-class performance is your goal!
