Choosing a Baseball Training GuideBy Jon Doyle, MA, CSCS Many players and even parents and coaches are searching the Internet for a high quality baseball training guide. There are certainly plenty of options to consider, and there are many different guides that you could end up selecting. Of course, not all of these options are created equally. You need to know how to make your selection and what to look for to make a great purchase and really find some useful and valuable information to improve your training. One of the first things that you need to make sure to do is find a baseball training guide that's written by somebody who's actually an expert. You'll find lots of guides written by people who have never been involved with baseball and instead are just trying to make a quick dime by marketing a product. Unfortunately, Internet marketers and other opportunists take advantage of hot markets and try to sell products that they cut and paste together their other sources, as opposed to providing firsthand, proven advice. Look at the person's background and bio to try to see if they are really legitimate. Did they used to play baseball or coach baseball? Were they a scout or otherwise involved with the game? If you're looking for specific baseball training guide or nutritional programs, is the person a doctor or certified in the field they are offering advice in? Make sure to find somebody with honest, firsthand experience with what they are offering you. Otherwise you can't really trust anything that they're telling you to do, and you'll have no clue how valid or not it really is. At all times, avoid any self-described "Internet gurus" who have probably created guides for everything under the sun without any experience at all! Another thing you should remember about buying a baseball training guide is that production value doesn't mean information value. In fact, the snazziest books, guides and videos are sometimes the ones with the worst information. All of the effects and production value is used to mask the fact that the information is worthless, and to drive up the price by making it seem like a good find. So don't fall into the mindset that anything that looks great must be great. Evaluate the actual information and guidelines that will be offered and how they will be presented. Additionally, look for verification that the baseball training guide delivers on its promises. Check out customer testimonials, unbiased reviews from other websites, forums or recommendations from other individuals and so on. Wouldn't you rather have a guide that's jam-packed with useful information and verified advice as opposed to jam-packed with pretty pictures, fonts and graphics? Also remember that you're going to get what you pay for, just as you do with most things in life. While it seems like a pretty no-risk investment to purchase a baseball training guide for $10 or $15 bucks, what are you really expecting to get in return? While you shouldn't buy anything just for the fact that it's more expensive, it's a good bet that real products, with proven guidelines that can pay dividends for you are going to cost more than the $9.99 bargain basement product some guy off the street is peddling. Finally, once you've made your selection and settled on a baseball training guide that's right for you and satisfies your requirements, be sure to start using it properly. Look for the key pieces of information that you can put to use right away and without too much hassle. Then work on different specific techniques or ideas one at a time, incorporating them into your game or your training regimen. Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to do everything all at once, instead master certain skills or steps and then start incorporating the next ones. When you look for something on the Internet, you're bound to get all kinds of results and products, and not all of them are going to be of the quality that you're seeking. So don't fall for the traps, and do your due diligence to find guides for baseball training and techniques that will really provide valuable, helpful information. The great products are absolutely out there, you just need to know how to separate them from the rest. To the top of "baseball training guide". |
